CRANSTON, R.I. (March 5, 10:50 a.m. ET) -- Highlighting its granulators and single-shaft shredders, CMG SpA of Bologna, Italy, recently opened a new distribution and technical demonstration center in Rhode Island to serve its North American customers.
The 5,000-square-foot center in Cranston officially opened March 1, according to Robert Ragosta, president of Ragosta Consultants LLC of Johnson, R.I., the exclusive North American representative of CMG.
“CMG has been in the U.S. market for about 30 years. They’ve manufactured private-labeled machines for other companies like Cumberland Engineering,” Ragosta said.
“Now, they’ve decided to re-enter the U.S. market under their own name,” he added.
Ragosta and John Wojcik, vice president of sales, have more than 60 years of combined experience in the industry. Both worked for Cumberland and AEC/Nelmor. They began representing CMG last year.
The new center will enable customers to see the latest offerings in action.
CMG has 42 models of size-reduction equipment, ranging from a 7-by-9-inch model to 24-by-63 inches.
The company serves a variety of industries, including recycling, thermoforming, film and blow molding. It has a specialized line of feed roll and thermoforming granulators.
Ragosta said the single-shaft shredders have been showing strong results as they enable companies to shred with much lower horsepower, providing energy savings.
