| Sipa debuts all-in-one unit |
| By Rhoda Miel | PLASTICS NEWS STAFF November 9, 2009 Italy’s Sipa SpA has introduced a PET bottle-molding system that integrates the blow molder, filler and labeling station in one unit, boosting production efficiency by as much as 10 percent. Sipa, which is part of Zoppas Industries Group, globally premiered the Sincro Tribloc system during Drinktec 2009 in September, said Tony Maniscalco, sales manager for Sipa’s Atlanta-based North American unit. He introduced the system for North American processors during the Society of Plastics Engineers 2009 Annual Blow Molding Conference, held Oct. 7-8 in East Lansing. The system can turn out more than 2,000 bottles per hour in an automated and synchronized line that requires one operator and reduces floor space by 40 percent from traditional independent production, Sipa said. The Sincro Tribloc also eliminates the need for hot glue by using pre-glued labels, Maniscalco said. Eliminating that step also reduces environmental and safety issues. Sincro Tribloc combines Sipa’s SFR EVO rotary blow molding machine with a labeling system by P.E. Labellers SpA of Mantua, Italy, and a Berchi filling and capping station. Sipa acquired Berchi Group of Parma, Italy, in 2008.
