The Italian Pavilion (# 6031 – South Building, McCormick Place) has been organized in collaboration with the Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery And Moulds Manufacturers’ Association – ASSOCOMAPLAST. The pavilion will provide the opportunity to meet with representatives and / or obtain information on these four (4) leading Italian manufacturers: BANDERA LUIGI COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE SpA, MOTOMECCANICA BRAGA E PELLEGRINI Srl, REG GALBIATI Srl and S.E.S. INJECTION MOULDS Srl.
These manufacturers are setting industry trends in plastic and rubber processing machinery and technology development.
The Italian plastics and rubber processing machinery industry has seen steady growth since its inception in 1960. Italian machines are highly prized by the world’s most industrialized and economically advanced countries.
And according to the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Census), in 2008 Italy held its title as a “Top Five” foreign supplier for the industry, exporting $153 million of solutions to US companies. For the first three months of 2009, Italy increased its share of US imports for the industry from 5.3% in 2008 to 5.8% in 2009 ($36 million).
